Born to a Russian mother and an American father, I grew up fully ingrained in both cultures. History and literature have always been my passions in life, and I love having the opportunity to help translate important pieces of Soviet-era tamizdat literature. My favorite Russian novel is either Crime and Punishment or A Hero of Our Time. I studied history at Bard College, and primarily focused on Eastern Europe, and completed my senior thesis project on the tragic violence in 1990s Croatia.
