Glikery Ulunov was born in 1997 in Kaluga. He graduated from the Higher School of Economics in Moscow with a degree in Philosophy and continued his postgraduate studies at the St. Petersburg School of Social Sciences. He made his poetry debut in 2017 as part of the Ioza poetry group. He has published in the magazines Vozdukh, Flagi, and Zhurnal Na Kolenke, among others. In 2020, he was shortlisted for the Arkady Dragomoshchenko Prize. In 2025, he was arrested for his work "Five Thousand Ideas for Destructive Date" (co-authored with Sofia Surkova) under Article 110.2 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Organization of activities aimed at inciting suicide"). He spent nine months in pretrial detention, after which he was released by the court and left Russia.
