Стыль аповеду нагадвае рытуальны саван, у які загорнутыя ключавыя падзеі, пачуцці, успаміны, пробліскі чорнага гумару і грубай мовы, даследуюцца тэмы адносін, вернасці, забабонаў і чалавечнасці.
Kotryna Zylė’s novel “Liubyja kosci” is the life story of a woman who keeps the bones of two men in the wall unit in her home. In this atmospheric work, steeped in magical realism, the everyday life of Vilnius’s bedroom districts is intertwined with Lithuanian folklore. The time of the novel’s action is undefined, conventional. Here life is welcomed and seen off in the bathhouse of an apartment building, shepherds ride trolleybuses to the pasture, animals are kept in apartments, bread is baked on the stair landing next to the mailboxes; rituals are held in the building and miracles happen. The narrative style resembles a ritual shroud in which key events, feelings, memories, flashes of black humor and coarse language are wrapped, and it explores themes of relationships, loyalty, superstition and humanity.
