Я не поклонник ахматовского Реквиема: по-моему, за исключением нескольких строк, ходульно, и, главное, декламация: не очень веришь ему. Для меня Ахматова существует, главным образом, благодаря ее «Новогодней балладе», «Северным элегиям» и «Поэме без героя». Кое-что в ее лирике.
I am not a fan of Akhmatova’s Requiem: I think, with the exception of a few lines, it is forced, and more importantly, too declamatory: you don’t really believe it. For me, Akhmatova exists mainly thanks to her “New Year’s Ballad,” “Northern Elegy” and “Poem Without a Hero.” There is something in her lyrics.
