I have failed to arrive at any agreement with your French friends, as their terms for the publication of “This Is Moscow Speaking” are quite high. This book is, I repeat, very interesting, yet the brevity of the narrative brings difficulties to any publishing house, as there is not much one could initiate in Germany with a book as short. I do not withdraw from participation, yet I would prefer not to do the translation myself, as I still need to sort out a couple of important matters before I retire.
