Regarding your response to Sintaksis, I have to agree completely. This journal is less interesting in the literary sense than Feniks and less bold politically. But it is nonetheless important for us to publish all three issues in the same issue of Grani (and of course I will send out two copies of Grani as soon as they are ready). The pseudonym under the note on Brodsky I promise not to expose.

I haven’t received Vozdushnye Puti yet. I would also like for you to send us the new edition of Mandelshtam (the first volume) for review. We will publish it right away. Sorry for the immodest question, but where are you planning to publish the memoirs of E.M. Tager? I would gladly yield you the pages of Grani to you (there is no limit to editorial arrogance, isn’t that right, Gleb Petrovich?). I’m joking – writing it just in case.

Sintaksis in Grani (which I will most likely typeset in small font and as densely as possible in the Documents section) will be preceded by a large article in which everything that you are writing about will be mentioned. Sintaksis itself will be looked at as a phenomenon of contemporary Russian life. Of course, it’s not going to be a sensation. In that case, even the weak and vulgar poems, as well as the interesting and talented ones, will be appropriate.
