I was born and raised in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and moved to the United States at the age of 16. Since then, I have tried to preserve my native languages: Ukrainian and Russian. I aspire to become a psychiatrist in the future and am currently majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology at Hunter College. Because of my interest in psychology and languages, I find Tamizdat Project pivotal in developing my understanding of language mechanisms and its effects on the mentality of the speaker.
