Born in America, yet raised in a Russian family, I grew a deep passion for the Russian language and culture. By choosing to major in the language and translation, I officially began immersing myself in Russian at Hunter College. Translation is a bridge between two cultures. The Tamizdat Project allows me to be this bridge by unraveling the beauty of Russian literature and introducing it to English speakers. I am excited to allow them to “enter” the Russian world and see how rich the language, culture, and history is. It’s a difficult, yet beautiful challenge I desire to tackle.
