The Armenian printing house and publishing enterprise Sevan operated in Beirut from 1955 to 1983. It was founded and directed by Simon Simonyan, a Lebanese Armenian intellectual, writer, editor, and publicist. Sevan played a significant role in the educational and cultural life of the Armenian Diaspora, contributing to the creation, publication, distribution, and dissemination of Armenian books. Notably, the publishing house began its activities with editions of works by Soviet Armenian writers Yeghishe Charents and Aksel Bakunts.
